The event, which attracted a sizable crowd, saw the CDH team, made up of former Davis Cup player, Fred Agyiri, and Clement Ayisi, snatch the ultimate from their colleagues from Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), also represented by Prince Ablorh and Isaac Odoom, in a game which travelled several hours before producing a winner.

With the company’s CEO, Emmanuel Adu-Sarkodee, firmly rooting for them in the stands, the CDH team thrashed their opponents 6-2, 6-3 to lift the two giant trophies at stake to the amazement of the spectators, most of who had earlier vouched for GCB.

It was the GCB team that took the lead and humbled CDH after the first set, but the latter reorganised as they broke GCB’s dominance and continued to exert pressure until they defeated them 6-3 in the final set.

“We came with a plan and our plan was to win this competition at all cost so we didn’t give up even when we were down. We fought hard and by God’s grace we’ve been able to achieve that aim”, said Clement Ayisi, one of the winners from CDH.

Team Alkamin, represented by Andrews Adu Appiah (Akaak) and Emmanuel Senya, took the third position after defeating George Asabea and Roland Hayford of Ashform Ghana Limited 6-3, 6-1.

In all, eight corporate entities, including CFAO Equipment, Stanbic Bank, Tema Oil Refinery and De Simones Limited, took part in the competition which had Rockcare Group of Companies, producers of Alkamin Mineral Water, Babolat Sports and Voltic as sponsors.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the president of the federation, Mr Isaac Duah, expressed appreciation to the sponsors and promised an improvement in the organisation of the event next year.
