Black Queens brace for epic showdown with Rwanda

At 29 years, Cudjoe recognises that every opponent presents a unique challenge, emphasising the perils of underestimating the Rwandan team, She-Amavubi.

In a pre-match interview, she shared her thoughts, stating that the high-stakes match was not a walk in the park, as some might assume.

"Each team brings its own distinct style.

I am prepared and my teammates are also ready to continue winning to be in the AFCON," she said in a pre-match interview.

Despite acknowledging the formidable task at hand, Cudjoe assured fans of the Black Queens' readiness to fight tooth and nail to achieve the desired outcome when the referee's final whistle blows.

"From what I have seen, everyone is geared up and we simply need to replicate our winning formula from previous matches."

She called for support from Ghanaians saying, “I hope all our fans will give us the needed support.”

This afternoon, the Queens aim to put up a spirited performance to secure a crucial victory ahead of the return leg in Accra.

Notably, this match marks Ghana coach Nora Häuptle's debut in an AFCON qualifier since assuming the role in January this year.

Under her guidance, the Black Queens have achieved an impressive five consecutive wins, netted 14 goals and maintained a clean sheet throughout.

In February, the team defeated Benin 3-0 in an international friendly in their first game under Coach Nora.

Also in their second outing in April, the Queens recorded back-to-back victories over the Teranga Lionesses of Senegal, beating them 3-0 away and 1-0 in the return leg in Accra.

Since taking the helm, Coach Nora Häuptle has set her sights on transforming the team into a dominant force on the continent.
