Ghana Reinsurance gives GHȻ113,000 to seven institutions

Ghana Reinsurance Company Limited has presented GH Ȼ113,000 to seven health and educational institutions as part of its corporate social responsibility. The gesture was in line with Ghana Reinsurance’s desire to help improve on the capacities of some essential services in the country so as to enable them deliver on their mandate.

The institutions which benefited from the support were selected randomly by the insurance company due to their peculiar contributions to the development of the economy over the past years. Apart from the College of Health Sciences which received GhȻ23,000, the Ghana Heart Foundation, Urology Department and Department of Child Health, all of Korle Bu received GhȻ15,000 each. The rest were School of Medical Sciences, KNUST, Kumasi, Students Financial Aid Office, University of Ghana and the National Trust Fund.

Presenting the cheques to representatives of the beneficiary institutions, Mr Gustav Wisdom Siale, Managing Director of Ghana Reinsuran

Dr Frank Serebuor of the Ghana Heart Foundation on his part thanked the company for the support for the past years and was hopeful that this donation will go a long way to support the efforts of the foundation as it had for the past years supported heart patients with 50 percent off their bills.

“We have always wished that institutions like these will come to our aid and lesson our burden and as well help save lives and give hope to the hopeless” he stated.
Mrs Christine Banning of the Students Financial Aid Office of the University of Ghana on her part thanked Ghana Reinsurance for the continuous support to the office for the past years.
