The John C. Maxwell leadership conference in Accra on JUNE 19
On June 19, 2019, a major conference dubbed Transformation Ghana and the John C. Maxwell leadership conference will take place in Accra.
Transformation Ghana Leadership Initiative (TGLI) was founded in February 2019 by Dr. William Appiah Amponsah, an ordained minister and professor of economics.

Dr. Amponsah is also a certified leadership coach of the John Maxwell Team and continues to receive mentoring in leadership by Dr. John C. Maxwell.
In 2018, Dr. Amponsah invited all Ghanaian certified coaches of the John Maxwell Team to join him in the Ghana Transformation Movement with the goal of undertaking the Maxwell brand of Values-Based Leadership Transformation of Ghana. The inner core members of TGLI are all certified members of The John Maxwell Team.
The vision of TGLI is to train, develop, influence, and inspire transformational leaders in Ghana to help bring about the nation’s transformation by using tools and strategies applied by Dr. John C. Maxwell and the John C. Maxwell Leadership Foundation to improve lives.
The main tool of the Maxwell Country Transformation Initiatives (CTI) is Values-Based Roundtables facilitation of teams of 4 to 10 individuals.
During a Roundtable, a designated person leads discussions about selected values but all participants share from their own experience. As a result, everyone grows together by being given the opportunity for a win – including the facilitator. CTIs have been undertaken in Guatemala, Paraguay, and Costa Rica.
More than four years ago, while attending the VIP breakfast of world renowned leadership guru Dr. John C. Maxwell during his annual Live2Lead conference at the John C. Maxwell Leadership Center in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Amponsah submitted a letter to Dr. Maxwell inviting him to consider the countries of Africa for his brand of Country Transformation. Dr. Maxwell gave him a signed copy of his book, Intentional Living, and advised him to be intentional and persistent in pursuing that vision.
Dr. Amponsah provided a briefing about the Maxwell CTI to the Leadership Caucus of Parliament of Ghana, led by Hon. Alban K. Bagbin (Majority Leader, NDC) and Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu (Minority Leader, NPP), in August 2016. Dr. John C. Maxwell has since stated his commitment to undertake CTI in Ghana. President Nana Akufo-Addo has invited Dr. Maxwell to meet him during his visit in Ghana so as to discuss Maxwell CTI and Dr. Maxwell has accepted to meet him.
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
The John C. Maxwell Leadership Conference of June 19, 2019 is the first organized event stemming from the vision of TGLI. The theme of the Conference is “Transformation for a Healthier Leadership Culture.” The Conference will include two related activities:
(i) VIP Breakfast at the Alisa Hotel at 8 AM, and
(ii) Leadership Conference at the Accra International Conference Centre at 1 PM.
The objective of the VIP Breakfast is to invite key leaders of Ghana’s seven (7) streams of influence, including Government (Agencies and Politicians), Education, Business, Christian Churches and other religions, Arts and Culture, Media, and Family Advocacy Groups to join Dr. John C. Maxwell at breakfast, network with one another, and explore how to transform their organizations and the nation by applying proven core leadership principles and values. We expect executive officers and officials of the 7 Streams of influence and their upper level administrative teams to attend the VIP breakfast.
Dr John C. Maxwell, who has expressed interest in undertaking transformation of Ghana, will share what Values-Based Leadership Transformation Roundtables entail and how the tools may be applied in the Transformation of Ghana to enhance growth. The ticket price for the VIP breakfast and attending the afternoon Conference is $1,000 or 5,000 Cedis and discounted until June 12 at $800 or 4,000 Cedis.
The objective of the afternoon Leadership Conference is to optimize the personal and professional growth and leadership capabilities of management executives, officials, and human resources personnel of organizations and their teams (both private and public) by influencing and inspiring them to achieve greater teamwork and productivity in their organizations.
The conference will be filled with practical lessons and authentic stories from Dr. John C. Maxwell’s own leadership journey, including shifts in his leadership strategies over the years, as well as proven principles for making changes that will define the leadership legacy of management executives and their teams. He will also demonstrate live how he has mentored his own Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Mark Cole, to influence growth in his enterprises.
