Wizkid breached contractual obligation with Accra concert; We’ll issue FULL refunds to all who paid for tickets - LiveHub

“Dear LiveHub Nation, Wizkid breached his contractual obligation last night. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. We will issue FULL refunds to all who paid for tickets. Please send your barcode to [email protected]. Thank you. Management.”

This is the only message organisers of the Wizkid Live Concert have put out as of now after Wizkid went ‘missing’ at the live concert organised at the Accra Sports and was expected to witness at least an hour performance by Wizkid and additional performances by many other artists.

High level of energy coupled with enthusiasm and the hope of partying hard with one of Africa’s finest Afrobeat sensations virtually danced on the faces of hundreds of music enthusiasts who made their way to the Accra Sports stadium Saturday night, December 10 for the Wizkid Live in Accra concert.

But all of that positive vibe were replaced with disappointment, murmurings and cussings from patrons when the headline artiste, Wizkid didn’t show up.

The unfortunate turn out of events was probably a “double slap” for revelers who had had to wait for hours to see the Nigerian music icon’s performance.

However, that never happened when at about 4:00 am, the technical team started packing up some of the equipment.

Earlier in the night, DJ Tunes had raised the hopes of patrons when he continuously whet their appetite saying Wizkid would mount the stage some minutes into his performance.

That never happened since an hour into his performance, the saxophonists who were part of his act started leaving the stage.

Even though there was no word from the organisers at this point, many patrons had read the signs and started walking out of the stadium.

They didn’t mince words in expressing their disappointments, with some calling on the organisers to refund their monies when Graphic Showbiz spoke with them.

Although Wizkid was absent, a number of the artistes billed on the show including Gyakie, Kelvyn Boy, Yaw Tog, Efya, Asaka Boys and Darko Vibes took turns to entertain the audience.

Interestingly, R2Bees and King Promise who were promoted as part of the list of performers didn’t turn up as well.

Yfm’s presenter, Kojo Manuel who was the compere for the night competently handled affairs with his hype and energy. There was never a dull moment with him.

Wizkid Live was organised by Live Hub Entertainment, a subsidiary of Finali Entertainment Group.

Tickets sold at Ghc275 for general access, while VIP tickets went for Ghc650.

Golden Circle tickets which came with tables, cocktails and finger foods also sold at Ghc3,200.

Meanwhile, the organisers or Wizkid are yet to comment on the concert, except for the terse message announcing a refund.
