Gyan’s hat-trick seal League title for Al Ain

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan scored all the three goals for Al Ain as he destroyed Dubai 3-0 on Thursday night to win the UAE Pro League title with four matches remaining.

The Black Stars skipper, who grabbed his second hat-trick of the season on the night with two goals after the break following his opening goal in the 37th minute.

Al Ain’s points total of 58, with a lead of 16 points and just four games left, makes it mathematically impossible for 2nd-placed Al Ahli to catch them which makes them the league winners.

He has now scored 28 goals in just 20 league games this season and has exactly 50 in the Pro League since arriving in the Garden City 19 months ago.Gyan’s massive heroics makes Al Ain the first UAE side to win back-to-back titles in the professional era.

Gyan’s powerful header in the 37th minute opened the scoring and doubled Al Ain’s lead in the 56th minute through another header.

He sealed the emphatic victory in the 75th minute to complete his hat-trick on the night that gave his side their second successive league title.
