That, Adjetey, fondly nicknamed ‘Ozii Ozaa,’ said, was the only way for sports physiotherapists to give of their best to their clubs and be duly recognised in the future.

Mr Adjetey, who has been the physiotherapist of Hearts since 1999 gave the advice last Saturday when members of TalkHeartsofOakSC, one of the vibrant digital support base of the club, donated assorted drinks, a cash of Gh¢1,500 and a citation to honour him at the Nmaanmonaa Central Mosque, near the Ghana Post Office in Accra.

“ Physiotherapy is very important in sports and particularly, football as a poor job by a physiotherapist or what we commonly call masseurs in Ghana could put a player’s career in danger and ultimately affect a club.

“Masseurs in Ghana must take good care of their players but before you can do that you have to be on top of your issues.  A club’s performance is not only hinged on the competence of the coach, but also the fitness of the players and this in a way, a good physiotherapist saved the club and certainly, if a masseur or physiotherapist does his work well, it will speak for him and that will bring honour  and recognition”, he said.

Making the presentation, J. J. Kojo Effangon (Shamo), the administrative manager ofTalkHeartsofOakSC,  said it was in recognition of Mr Adjetey’s dedication, valour and service to the club for the past two decades.

“We noticed that Ozi Ozaa has been absent from the bench for some time now and upon enquiries found out that he had been sick for a while. The group, therefore, deemed it necessary to support him to recover as quickly as possible, given the role he had played in our darling club as a masseur for the past two decades. We do not want him to die before we come to honour him.
