Vetting committee

According to a release issued in Wa last Thursday signed by the UWR NPP Secretary, Mr Hafiz Bin Salih, the vetting of the aspirants, which would be done by a committee, would be held on October 30, 2015.

“In line with Article 11 (2b) of the constitution of the NPP, the regional executive wishes to make these proposals for your kind consideration and approval so as to facilitate the process of electing a parliamentary candidate for Nadowli/Kaleo Constituency,” he said.

The Nadowli/Kaleo Constituency primary was put on hold by the NPP for strategic reasons. The obvious one is to see whether the Majority Leader, Mr Alban Bagbin, would contest or not and if he would, who to field to give him a run for his money .

He said the constituency was among the last number of constituencies left to be opened across the country, thus bringing to an end the NPP process of electing a parliamentary candidate towards the 2016 general election.

According to the regional secretary, vetting results and notice of poll would be out on November 1 and November 4, this year.

He said already the other 10 constituencies in the UWR had chosen their candidates. They are Wa Central, Mr Issahaku Tahiru; Wa West, Daniel Dari; and Wa East Godfrey Tangu.
