NPP, NDC wish Muslims well

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have extended goodwill messages to Muslims as they embark on their Ramadan fast.

In separate messages, both parties urged the Muslims to dedicate themselves to the essence of Ramadan.

In a message signed by the National Chairman of the NPP, Stephen Ayesu Ntim, it said being a sacred religious festival of Islam, the party anticipated all Muslims to rejuvenate their faith in Allah during the period of the fast.

“Ramadan holds profound significance as the month when the Holy Qu’ran was revealed to the Holy Prophet Muhamad (S.A.W), meaning it is the most revered time of the year for Muslims,” it said.

It added “through fasting, believers experience hunger and thirst, fostering empathy for those who endure scarcity every day and engage in acts of charity to fully embrace the abundant blessings of this sacred month”.

The statement called on all Muslims in the country to dedicate themselves to the fervent prayer to Allah for his benevolence upon the nation.

The NDC statement, which was signed by its General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, said Ramadan was a time of spiritual reflection, fasting, prayer and unity embodying values of compassion, empathy and solidarity.

“The Muslim community's steadfast commitment to faith, charity and service inspires us all to strive for greater harmony and understanding in our society.

Ramadan serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of solidarity and generosity towards those in need,” it said.

It said as a political party committed to social justice and inclusivity, it stood in solidarity with Muslims and pledged to continue advocating policies that promoted equality, compassion and respect for all, in the spirit of Ramadan.

“May this period of fasting and prayer bring peace, prosperity and spiritual upliftment to all,” it said.
