Ghana Re donates cash to six bodies

The Ghana Reinsurance Company Limited (Ghana Re) yesterday presented separate cheques amounting to GH¢48,000 to six institutions to support their operations.

The institutions are the College of Health Sciences of the University of Ghana; the School of Medical Sciences of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST); the Students Aid Fund, the Ghana Heart Foundation, the Department of Child Health, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and the Ghana National Trust Fund.


The College of Health Sciences received a cheque for GH¢10,000; the School of Medical Sciences, the Students Aid Fund, Ghana Heart Foundation and the Department of Child Health received cheques for GH¢8,000 each, while the Ghana National Trust Fund received a cheque for GH¢ 6,000.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Managing Director of Ghana Re, Mr Gustav Siale, said the donation was in fulfilment of the company’s social responsibility.

He explained that the company selected the beneficiary institutions because of their work which has a positive impact on  the vnlnerable in the  society.

Mr Siale said the plight of children, the aged and challenged persons was of concern to the management of the company, and that informed the choice of the beneficiary institutions.
