The driver of the truck, with registration number AS3712 R, was said to have lost control of his vehicle due to a brake failure which caused a collision with the 34-seater bus carrying 20 presidential security staff members.
In the process, the bus crashed into a concrete pillar at the interchange. The presidential staff bus was heading to the Flagstaff House when it collided with the DAF truck, which was Burkina Faso bound.
Ms Helen Serwaa Anim, who was on the bus, told the Daily Graphic that all that she could remember was finding herself lying in the bus among the other staff with broken glass everywhere.
She sustained injuries on her head and other parts of her body and had been admitted to the Ghana Police Hospital for treatment.
