A Senior Lecturer of the University of Education, Winneba, Dr Samuel Hayford, who made the call, noted that the failure of school heads to provide ‘sanctuaries for students will result in them turning to the wilderness’ since there would be no one to guide and nurture them.

The anniversary celebration which is on the theme: “35 years on, improving and sustaining quality education delivery”, will include a float, football gala, graduation, speech and prize-giving day, donation to an orphanage/leprosarium, unveiling of projects, dinner and awards night, as well as a thanksgiving service.

The Headmistress of the school, Mrs Florence Agordjor, said the school was started in September 1982 by the late Mrs Ama Kyem Antwi, a teacher who retired voluntarily as an Assistant Director of Education from the Ghana Education Service, in-charge of private schools.

She indicated that the school had all the facilities needed to groom children into well-developed individuals academically and socially.

Mrs Agordjor expressed gratitude to all those who had contributed to making the school what it was and praised the teachers for their devotion to duty, which had resulted in moulding the children well for the future.

“We give thanks to God and pray for His continuous blessings and guidance,” she added.

The Chairman of the Parent Teachers Association, Rev. Patrick Dogbe, entreated the children to study hard to justify the investments made by their parents in their education.
