When it comes to crochet fashion, most people assume it is mainly for Rastafarians, maybe because of their love for wearing crochet tops and hats.

Everyone can wear crochet clothes and accessories to create an interesting casual look.

Crochet is a process by which yarn or thread and a single hook of any size can be used to make fabric, lace, garments and toys.

Crochet may also be used to make hats, bags, shoes and jewellery.

At present, crochet braids are in vogue and most young ladies are fixing it on their heads as it comes in various colours and designs.

When you look at modern crochet designs, you will love them. You can have a cute crochet jacket, jumpsuit, earrings, watches, belts, among others.

Some of the biggest names in fashion design occasionally put crochet on the runway. It isn't common since crochet has to be entirely handmade, but it happens on a few runways every season and it's always a delight to see.

The earliest known recorded crochet patterns were printed in 1824, yet there is a great deal of evidence pointing to the fact that women particularly have been recording and sharing crochet patterns well before then.

While the exact origins of crochet are unclear as the skill was initially word of mouth, Lis Paludan theorises that crochet evolved from traditional practices in Iran, South America or China, but there is no decisive evidence of the craft being performed before its popularity in Europe in the 19th century.
