Stonebwoy goes higher in New York

He is one of the best performers in Ghana currently and it is not surprising that Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, lived up to expectation when he performed at the Irving Plaza in New York City last Friday.

The day was also his birthday and he used the ocassion to thank God for adding a new year to his life.

The concert dubbed Go Higher Concert saw Stonebwoy perform for two hours dishing out songs such as Baafira, Mightylele, Go Higher, Pull Up, Ghetto Love, Sheekena, Run Go, Guy Guy, Gbedegbede and Climax.

Accompanied by his team, the BET Award winner, mounted the stage around 10p.m. and performed nonstop until he exited the stage.

The night also featured fellow Ghanaian artistes such as Edem, EL, Mr. Bright of Buk Bak fame, D.Black, Kwamz & Flava, Selasi.

They were supported by Nigeria’s Tekno and international acts like Lolaa, among others.  All the artistes gave good accounts of themselves on the day.

That is not all, DJs Slim, Tunez, Akuaa and AK were on hand to dish out great tunes to liven up the dull moments much to the excitement of the mixed crowd.

In a chat with Showbiz, Stonebwoy said the concert was part of his Go Higher tour which he intends to also take to some European countries.

 “The tour is a way of reaching my fans living outside Ghana and I intend to go to as many European countries as possible,” he said.

He expressed his appreciation to his fans for the support and also entreated them to vote for him to win all the five categories he has been nominated in this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
