Ebony’s One Week celebration on Sunday

The one-week celebrations of the late Dancehall artiste, Ebony Reigns, has been scheduled for Sunday, February 18, at the St. Martin De Porres School in Dansoman, Accra.

The event is expected to announce the dates for the final funeral rites for the rising star who lost her life in a road accident last Thursday on the Sunyani-Kumasi road.

Even before her family gives the date, there are talks about a state burial for her and on Tuesday, Chief Executive Officer of Rufftown Records and manager of the Kupe hitmaker, Ricky Nana Agyemang, popularly known as Bullet reinforced that on the Pundits show on GHOne TV with George Quaye.

According to Bullet, the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), GHAMRO and other bodies are making arrangements for the high-profile burial.

Ebony’s death has shaken the country with tributes continually pouring in not only from the entertainment industry players but from politicians and academia.
Some of her colleagues have also released tribute songs for her.

Judging from the outpouring of emotion, the one-week celebration is expected to attract a lot of people including high profile personalities and her fans.

Born on February 16, 1997, Ebony, real name Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, would have turned 21 tomorrow.

In the two years that she spent in the music industry, she garnered a lot of fans with back to back hits like Kupe, Sponsor, Date Your Father, Hustler and Maame Hwe.
