Stonebwoy beats them all at VGMA 2015
Hundreds of people defied torrential rain on the night to attend the awards event held at the Accra International Conference Centre and hosted by Nathaniel Attoh and Joselyn Dumas.

Although the ceremony started about one hour later than the advertised time, the red carpet segment, which for the first time was extended all the way to the main entrance, was very interesting.
The winner of the Best Vocal Female Vocal Performance, Wiyaala, opened the event with a very energetic performance which set the mood for the night.
Gospel artistes, Sonnie Badu and Christian of Vodafone Icons fame, were next with a performance of their new single, Otega, which was followed by performances by No Tribe and Edem.
Alternative rock band, Dark Suburb, got the audience talking with performances of their songs, Feel You Die and Who Dey Craze. Although the audience were not entirely familiar with their songs, the stagecraft and mystic surrounding the group was enough to draw the attention of the audience.
New kids on the block, Pappy Kojo and Joey B, were expected to blow the audience away with their songs Realer No and Wave, however their performance fell short of expectation.
Although they tried their best, they could not get the audience to interact with them during their time on stage.
The appearance of Tinny and Tic Tac on stage reignited the crowd and within a short time, the entire auditorium was singing along to some old but memorable hiplife tunes.
Although they were not publicised to perform, they both showed that they had not lost their touch.
Nigerian stars, Patoranking together with Seyi Shay and Yemi Alade gave a good account of themselves as their performances were well received by the audience.
Samini came on later in the night together with Kofi Kinatta and thrilled the audience with songs such as Isoki, Normal Play among others.
The BhimNation star, Stonebwoy received two other awards on the night, including, Reggae Dancehall Song of the Year, for his song Baafira, and the Reggae/ Dancehall Artistes of the Year. Stonebwoy alongside Sarkodie and Edem were the biggest artiste of the night, taking home three awards each.
Sarkodie was awarded the Hip-life/Hip-hop Artiste Of The Year, Best Collaboration Of The Year for Adonai, which featured Castro and also won the Vodafone Song Of The Year award as well
Edem on his part, was awarded Best Album Of The Year, for his album Books n Ryhmes, Afropop Song of the Year for Koene and The Best Music Video for his music video, The One, directed by Gio of Famous Films.
For the first time in the history of the awards, the Gospel Artiste of the Year award, which went to No Tribe, came with the prize of a Kantanka vehicle manufactured by Kristo Asafo.
Other artistes who emerged victorious on the night were Daddy Lumba who won the awards for Highlife Artiste Of The Year and Highlife Song Of The Year for his hit song, Ne3 Woho B3to Wo.
EL won the award for the Best Rapper, VVIP won the Best Group Award, Patoranking was announced as the winner for the Best African Artiste, Joe Mettle emerged as the Best Male Vocalist while the Best Gospel Song Award went to Selina Boateng for Alpha and Omega, which featured Uncle Ato.
