The former Cornerstone boss suggested that settling the matter out of court was the best of options, taking into account the telling effects the protracted case would have on the domestic league.

He revealed that the delay of the league had not only affected the playing body but even the ordinary Ghanaians who trade at the various stadia on match days.

To Nana Fitz, the back and forth of the matter is further taking the shine out of the domestic league which is already facing stiff competition from the foreign ones.

Speaking in an interview, he said “I am appealing to the parties involved to make this issue an out-of -court one. They should come to a compromise for the sake of the league.

“When the league is on recess, it affects so many things; the seller who makes a living on match days is denied his or her income, and club owners struggle to pay salaries because there are no matches and no gate proceeds.

“If we don’t handle what is happening well, it will even discourage potential sponsors from rallying behind the league. I want to believe that the title sponsor of the league - First Capital Plus Bank - has regretted sponsoring the league.’

“I want to again appeal, especially to the aggrieved party, Alhaji Gruzah, to soften his stance for the sake of fair play to save our league. We shouldn’t also forget that the matter would be settled, no matter what, but the situation would have been worse after the resolution.

“I have mediated in countless differences involving sporting personalities and organisation which helped the country in the long run, let’s look at the bigger picture, it should be Ghana first and then our personal interests second.

“I hear the case has been adjourned to next month, what is the guarantee that it would be resolved on the scheduled date? It could be postponed again, when that happens, it is our league, the young men who are pursuing their respective careers that will suffer,” Nana said.
