The Stars face the Desert Hawks of The Sudan on Friday in Omdurman before meeting the Crocodiles of Lesotho nine days later in Maseru. The minister has charged them to return unscathed from both games.

A statement signed by Michael Frimpong, Head of Public Relations, on behalf of the minister, said victories in the two games would smoothen the team’s path to a third successive appearance at the Mundial.

“I urge them to sustain the momentum in the upcoming return match against The Sudan in order to qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

“The Black Stars should be mindful of Zambia’s lead in Group D for this reason. It is imperative that we win this and the remaining matches to place Ghana in a better  position to qualify for the 2014 World Cup,” the minister said.

He further advised the technical and management teams to continue to work hard to ensure that the team was better conditioned for the games ahead.

Meanwhile, the minister is expected to travel to Omdurman for the game.
