Expect improved economy in my 2nd term : Prez Mahama assures
President John Mahama has stated that the economy will become better and impact positively on the fortunes and living standards of Ghanaians, after he has been given a second term.

This, the President added, was because he had devoted the first four years of his administration to the improvement of the social infrastructure of the country which had been in dire need of a facelift.
He assured Ghanaians of a better economy that would positively impact on their fortunes and living standards if he is given a second term.
The President was speaking at a durbar of the chiefs and people of Kwaobaah Nyanoa in the Upper West Akyem District in the Eastern Region which was held to mark the inauguration of a community day senior high school.
President Mahama said the numerous infrastructure projects undertaken by the government would enhance the development of the country.
Project
The construction of the facility offered employment to over 700 unemployed people.
The school is one of the 200 community day schools promised by the government during the 2012 electioneering under its progressively Free SHS policy.
Twelve community day high schools are expected to be constructed in the Eastern Region. When completed the number of senior high schools in the region will increase from 95 to 107.

The project, which took almost 20 months to complete, has become the first senior high school to be established by the government in the area.
The community day SHS is to create the opportunity for eligible pupils in the Kwaobaah Nyanoa community and its environs to access secondary education with ease.
Endurance
The President urged Ghanaians to endure the hardships they were currently going through, reiterating his assurance that the economic lives of the people would improve during his second term.
President Mahama stressed that he shared the plight of the people but noted that it was a sacrifice to acquire what would improve the living conditions of all.
"In everybody's life, you make sacrifices for the things that are important; there are times that we have to squeeze ourselves to do the precious things in life," he said.
The President assured Ghanaians that they would begin to feel money in their pockets in his second term.
"The money that we are raising, we are using for the things that will benefit this country; when I win for the second term, then, we will start putting money in our pockets.
"What is the use of money in your pocket when you are sick and cannot get a health facility to access healthcare?" he quizzed.
Education
President Mahama affirmed his commitment to expand access to education at all levels and called for concerted efforts from all to make it a reality.
The Minister of Education, Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman, appealed to parents to enrol their children in the school.
The Chief of the area and Benkumhene of the Asamankese Traditional Area, Baffour Kwame Ako III, thanked the government for the school and pledged to ensure its maintenance.
He also expressed appreciation to the President for honouring his promise to fix the bad roads in the Upper West Akyem communities.
