Guidelines for practical holy living

The Bible gives us very important principles for godly living. For example, when we read Colossians Chapter 3 carefully, we pick out key guidelines to practical holy living. But first we have a description of what a true Christian is. (v. 1-4).

The following five elements of the status of a true Christian are listed:

• You have been raised to new life in Christ.
• You have become a true citizen of Heaven (where Christ sits in the place of honour)
• You died to pull life here on earth.
• Your real life is now hidden with Christ in God. Christ is your life.
• When Christ comes back again you will share in all His glory. Indeed, Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Then next, the Bible text says because of this noble status of you the true believer you have to live a lifestyle worthy of your new status in Christ; and consistent with your nature.
