The audience, which was a mix of Ghanaians and expatriates domiciled in Ghana, gave the cast an earsplitting applause after their two-hour performance.

The play which was shown on March 30, April 1, and 2  commenced with a welcome address and a succinct narative by Chief Moomen. The cast then entered with much pomp and re-enacted Ghana’s pre-colonial histories featuring the stories of kings, queens and legends amidst dance and music.

The evening witnessed rich display of Ghana's culture and history with great energy and exhilaration.

It's no gainsaying that Wogbe Jeke is a top-flight and well produced theatre production and Chief Moomen and his posse deserves a big pat on the back.

"This is just like a prelude to the Heritage Theatre Series. Our next play is in July and it will be about Ghana's struggle for independence.

“ It will be centred on JB Danquah and Kwame Nkrumah. It's going to be an exhilarating experience," Chieff Moomen told Showbiz in a chat.

Wogbe Jeke: The Birth Of A Nation, written and produced by Chief Moomen is co-directed by Joyce Anima Misa Amoah and Abdul Karim Hakib.

It is ably supported by 10 other directors (choreographers, music directors, costume designers, light designers, sound engineers and audiovisual team), with a cast of one hundred— actors, dancers, singers, poets and instrumentalists.

Wogbe Jeke is sponsored by Key Soap with support from BotweBurg, Pulse TV, GH Gist, ameyawdebrah.com, Insyde Out, Sapphire Ghana and powered by Bambu Centre and Citi FM.
