The Last Flight takes off on Saturday

Any regular patron of Uncle Ebo Whyte’s plays cannot miss his use of clever idea combinations to expose human folly in a way that is at once discerning but yet hilarious.

It is no wonder, therefore, that in demonstration of their approval, patrons to his shows are mostly left with uncontrollable laughter amid thunderous applause.

This time round, the man behind such pleasantly entertaining plays  such as Unhappy Wives, Confused Husbands, Every One Has A Secret, Don’t Mess With a Woman, Sins Of The
Fathers and many more, says his latest play, The Last Flight, will top the chart as his most rib-tickling play yet.

Since 2008, Uncle Ebo Whyte and his Roverman Productions, have produced plays for every quarter of the year and The Last Flight has been scheduled for the last quarter of this year.

The Last Flight which  comes off at the National Theatre on November 30 and December 1 at 4pm and 8pm each day, tells the story of a drowning man who misses the only available spot on a lifeboat on the high seas in delicate theatrical representations that sum up fading opportunities that individuals, couples, business managers, the nation and the African continent as a whole confront.

According to Uncle Ebo, the setting of The Last Flight is the Kumasi Airport, but this in itself is satirical but necessary to convey the message forcefully.

The message of the play focuses on relationships and other aspects of national life, including the choices we make and the positioning of our priorities.

“It questions how the country is handling its current democratic dispensation and if this opportunity could be the last chance.

“Having squandered opportunities, the play asks if we take ourselves seriously, considering that there are other nations that are making strides and improving.

“ The play highlights society ills in an exceptionally creative and humourous way. It places emphasis on the need to take advantage of opportunities, as chances lost may not be got again”, he added.
