Nubuke to host Kweku Opoku’s artwork
The exhibition, titled ‘U Can’t Hide, ’ will be opened by Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah, Ghana’s Ambassador to Namibia.In the artist’s living room at East Legon in Accra where the finished works had been packed ready to be moved to the exhibition venue, the artist’s broad horizon was evident in the wide array of subject matter and mode of execution.

From the abstraction of masks to the series of faces and works achieved with just a few strokes of the palette knife or brush, Opoku employs colour as well as light and shade in judicious ways to demonstrate a firm grasp of visual communication.
A Graphic Designer who studied at Cardiff College of Art in Wales, Opoku was a Director of the National Film and Television Institute. He worked as a Creative Director for 15 years in the advertising industry in Ghana. He retired in 2012 and is currently a Design and Brand consultant.
A jazz quartet comprising Frank Kissi (drums), PK Ambrose (bass), Bernard Ayisa (saxophone) and Victor Dey (piano) will play on the first day of the exhibition.
