Ghana-Benin in jazz collabo

It will be an evening of original compositions by three Ghanaian musicians and their two friends from Benin with a little help from American colleague and guitarist, Colter Harper.

The Ghanaians on board the project are Bernard Ayisa (saxophone), Frank Kissi (drums) and Victor Dey (keyboard/keytar). They all know their way around their instruments and can swing hard on any occasion.

Bassist Manu Falla and drummer Josaphat Hounou are the brothers from Benin. Immaculate play stemming from rich experience is what they are known for. Both guys have a fair amount of following among jazz fans here because they sometimes come over for gigs.

The reality is that the musicians know each other well and collectively believe their own compositions must be better known to jazz followers in the sub-region.

What patrons would find exciting on the night is the presence of two competent drummers playing alongside each other.  They know how to provide solid backing for others to rock but can also lock it down tight and groove with delight behind their sets.

The concert promises to be an intensive night of rousing West African jazz.
