A press statement from the party’s General Secretary, Mr Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, stated that the June 13, 2015 date for the primaries had not changed.

There were reports that the NPP parliamentary primaries might be postponed due to the crisis among the executives of the party.

But Mr Agyepong confirmed in the statement that with the exception of Bia East, Bia West, Juaboso, Akontombra, Nadowli-Kaleo and Nkwanta South constituencies where executives of the party had requested a postponement of their primaries, all other constituencies would hold their primaries on the said date.

The statement also pointed out that parliamentary primaries in the Klottey Korle, Obom-Domeabra and Akrofuom constituencies had been put on hold, pending the determination of cases referred to the National Appeals Committee.

It stated that the Electoral Commission (EC) was printing the notices of poll and the ballot papers for the primaries.

Meanwhile, the statement said constituency election committees were to liaise with the district directors of the EC for the selection of appropriate venues for the primaries.
