Wassa Amenfi West Assembly completes projects

The Wassa Amenfi West District Assembly has embarked on a number of projects to improve the living conditions of the people in the district.

The projects include a GH¢ 406,306.80 high-level tank with treatment facility for the Asankrangwa water system with funding from the International Development Agency and the Government of Ghana, the construction of a community information centre and post office at Asankrangwa at a cost of GH¢ 333,992.56, an office accommodation for decentralised departments at a cost of GH¢162,953.48 with funding from the District Development Fund, and a new administrative block for the assembly.

The District Chief Executive for Wassa Amenfi West, Mr Samuel Victor Meisu, who briefed the Daily Graphic, said with the exception of the high-level tank water system project which was going on, the rest had been completed.

Mr Meisu said the projects were started between 2013 and 2014 as part of the development agenda of the assembly and to open up the area for improved economic activities.

He said the district had benefited from a number of rural development projects from the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development and expressed the hope that the people would appreciate the efforts of the government to improve their living conditions.

He commended the contractors who executed the projects for meeting their schedules, and thanked the people for their support and cooperation.

He called on the people to maintain the prevailing peace for the development of the district.
