Nana Ama Dokua dismisses NDC agenda as mirage
The newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Akropong Constituency, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah Adjei, has described the Agenda 50-50 being pursued by National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Eastern Region as a mirage. By Agenda 50-50, the NDC hopes to increase in 2016 its current seven seats to 15 out of the 33 in the region.

“How can the NDC ever think of such an agenda in a region that has been totally neglected by the Mahama-led government?” she asked the media.
In her view, the NDC has neglected the region and is only using an election year to undertake some projects in the region to lure the people into voting for it.
Wide awake
"Let not the government of the day think that it can take the good people of the Eastern Region for granted by resorting to the use of last minute rushed projects to show us they care. We are wide awake and know those who truly care," Nana Dokua stated.
According to her, businessmen and women from the region are going through difficulties because of high inflation and the rising cost of doing business in the country.

She said lending rates were not as attractive as it was experienced under President John Agyekum Kufuor.
She, therefore, asked the NDC to quickly fix the economy and get it on a sound footing.
In her view, focusing on meeting the needs of Ghanaians would be a better option for the NDC than for it to dream of annexing 50 per cent of all votes in the Eastern Region.
Nana Dokua added: “Ghanaians are fed up with the incompetence, corruption and bad governance of the NDC and are eagerly waiting for the NPP and our flag bearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, to redeem the country from this hardship".
She used the opportunity to thank the people of the Akropong area for giving her support and called on the party members to unite for victory in 2016.
The ruling NDC over the weekend launched "Agenda 50/50 - Operation Kyempe" at Suhum in the Eastern Region, the region that the flag bearer of the opposition NPP hails from.
