Holdbrook-Smith Memorial School holds 14th graduation
Sir Peter Holdbrook Smith-Memorial Basic School in Cape Coast has organised its 14th graduation ceremony for final-year students.
The School Chaplain, Rev. Father Abbey Quaye, used the occasion to advise the graduands to desist from habits that would derail their future aspirations.
He said it was essential that they eschewed all forms of negative behaviours that could harm their goals in life and adhere to the values they have acquired from home and school.
The school chaplain urged the students to make good use of their time and continue to study hard when they go to senior high school.
The proprietress of the school, Susan Holdbrook Ackatia Kwaidoo, for her part, stated that the school had trained the students academically and morally in preparation for their future.
She stated that next year, the school would be 25 years and had already graduated 14 batches of students.
Ms Ackatia Kwaidoo congratulated the graduands and encouraged them to uphold the good values they had learnt in the school.
The graduands were presented with certificates and stationary.
The outgoing Head Boy, Nana Kow Dadzie Quansah, in his speech, noted that the school had always provided holistic values, coupled with excellent academic training for its students.
He expressed the hope that all the graduates would come out with excellent grades when the results were released.
The chairperson of the occasion, Nana Kwame Adu VI, commended the school management and staff for nurturing the students to be disciplined and God-fearing.
He advised the parents to train their children well to prevent them from going wayward.
Nana Akosua Gyamfiaba, who co-chaired the occasion, advised the graduates to not be influenced by bad friends but to be more focused and work towards a bright future.
During the ceremony, the pupils entertained their parents, teachers and invited guests with varied performances such as choreography displays, poetry recitals and cultural performances.
