48 Students graduate from Mary Mother of Good Counsel School

The Local Manager of the Mary Mother of Good Counsel School, Reverend Father Thomas Betuyre, has advised graduands to make guided decisions as they transition from one stage of life to the other.

He explained that as they await their Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results, it was important for them to think about what they want to achieve in life and plan towards those dreams and aspirations to become successful in future.
Rev. Betuyre, who was speaking at the 16th graduation ceremony of the school, therefore, cautioned the graduands to desist from sharing unwarranted information such as videos, pictures and sensitive messages to friends on social media. 
“Make good decisions because one single mistake can have detrimental effects in your lifetime. Know that the Internet does not forget. Anything you post on the Internet stays there forever,” he noted.
The local manager also asked them to make good decisions when they get to senior high school (SHS) so that they do not land in trouble.
“Stay away from trouble at SHS. Do not go there and bully others,” he warned.
Forty-eight students, made up of 28 girls and 20 boys, graduated from the school.
They received certificates, Bibles and framed pictures of themselves.
The graduands presented citations to deserving teachers who worked tirelessly to ensure the success of their basic education.
Speaking on the theme, ”Catholic Education, looking beyond the horizon,” the guest speaker for the occasion, Mr Joseph Zefo Kere, asked graduands to assume full responsibility for their lives when they went to SHS because there would be no parents or guardians to make decisions for them.
He advised them not to succumb to the negative influences of friends and concentrate on their studies.
“At SHS, you may not get the luxury of acquiring everything you need. You need to take full responsibility for the new horizon you find yourself in. You owe it to yourself to be a good student and to be a good citizen so that your parents' efforts in ensuring your proper upbringing will not be in vain,” he said.
Mr Kere also acknowledged parents and teachers for their support in seeing the graduands through their basic education.
For her part, the outgoing prefect,  Keisha Mary Nhyira Ampomah Agyekum, advised the continuing students to be disciplined and pursue excellence.
“Extend the same level of cooperation you gave my team to the newly-elected prefects. Work hard to excel because the sky is your limit,” she said.
The newly–elected prefects were inducted into office while the school choir entertained guests with melodious songs.
