Irreverent irritants
So the vigil against the debilitating power outages came off last Saturday. Ghana did not crumble.

There was nothing untoward about the event. If anything it proved our democracy has come of age. It will be another opportunity for some irreverent irritants, in the name of government communicators, the same group which was uncharitable with the organisers, to take credit for the demonstration, as a measure of the level of tolerance displayed by the government.
It is interesting how a government communicator who took the campaigners to the cleaners for daring to openly criticise the government over its handling of the crisis turned up at the ceremony. Whatever the intention of Halidu Haruna, the Bible says that when somebody wakes up too early in the morning and prays for an enemy, that is a curse.
But the outbursts from those presuming to speak in defence of the government galvanised more people to participate in the vigil. It must serve as a lesson that wh
