Yaba advocates for healthy breasts
Many contestants of beauty pageants are motivated to participate by different factors but for Yaba, winner of Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) 2016, she entered because she has personally experienced how deadly breast cancer can be.

Speaking to Showbiz on Friday, Yaba said two years ago, she lost an aunt to breast cancer.
And watching the pain and suffering her aunt went through before dying has motivated her to make it a personal mission to educate women in country about breast cancer.
“This is not something I heard about on TV or radio. I am doing this because I have seen it, I have lived it and I am even at risk. Breast cancer is hereditary so there is no way I’m giving up on my project.
“I’m going to start from the Jomoro district and gradually we will move through the entire Western region and hopefully the whole of Ghana,” she said.
Yaba who hails from the Western Region was crowned the Legacy Queen at the GMB on Sunday, October 23 beating four other contestants to wear the prestigious crown which she gets to keep for good, in addition to GHc10, 000 cash prize, a four wheel drive car, and a trip to South Africa.
Yaba described the experience of winning the GMB pageant as a dream come true and an unforgettable experience.
“Every contestant entered the competition with the hope of winning it so emerging the ultimate winner has been a dream come true and a fulfilment of my passion,” she said.

Yaba added that although some have questioned her win, she is unfazed and she is rather using the criticisms as motivation to work harder to execute her project and prove her critics wrong.
She added that she was setting up a scholarship scheme for young ladies, in fashion design at the Abbi Creation Fashion and Business College.
She told Showbiz that combining being a beauty queen with school has not been easy but she acknowledged that the support from her team has been immense in helping her cope.
