Muntari can't play for Stars unless he appeals Dzamefe's findings

A legal practitioner, Egbert Faibille Jnr, has said that ex Black Stars player, Sulley Ali Muntari, cannot play for the national football team unless he appeals for his inclusion in the team at an Appeals Court.

According to him, "When adverse findings are made against you by a Commission of Inquiry, they constitute a judgement of a High Court and an appeal shall lie to the Court of Appeal".

He explained that since adverse findings were made against the player by the Dzamefe Commission, the player will have to seek an appeal at the Appeals Court to have the adverse findings against him set aside before he could play for the country.

In a Facebook post, Mr Faibille Jnr said "Sulley Muntari's apology, I am afraid he cannot play for the Black Stars again unless he appeals to the Court of Appeal and succeed in having the adverse findings against him by the Dzamefe Commission set aside".

The Dzamefe Commission of Inquiry, chaired by Mr Justice Senyo Dzamefe, an Appeal Court Judge, was commissioned by President John Mahama to look into Ghana's participation in the Brazil 2014 World Cup.

Other members of the commission were Mr Moses Foh-Amoaning, a legal practitioner and Mr Kofi Anokye Owusu-Darko, a sports enthusiast.

The ex- Ghana international sent a letter to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) apologising for his actions during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and asked for forgiveness.

The Saudi Arabia-based midfielder was suspended from the national team following his physical attack on Moses Armah, then a member of the Black Stars management committee, during a heated argument over payment of the players' appearance fees in Brazil.

The said apology letter to the GFA by the midfielder has received a lot of public commentary, with many arguing that the apology letter was a bait by the player to be called back into the national team following the team's qualification into the 2017 African Cup of Nations Gabon.

The Minister of Sports, Nii Lante Vanderpuye has already gone public asking the public to accept Muntari's apology.
