The facts presented by ASP Richmond Akwasi Yeboah to the court, presided over by Mr Frank Gbeddy, were that the complainant, Frederick Kwame Totime is a media practitioner who lives at Akuse, while the accused, Eric Yeboah, is a video editor from Ashanti Mampong.

He said Totime had a Sony HDV camera valued at GH¢7,000 which he had been renting out to people.

On January 2015, Yeboah approached To time at Akuse and rented the camera for a week at GH¢70 per day.

ASP Yeboah said after receiving the camera, Yeboah failed to return it and refused to pay the daily renting fees.

All efforts by Totime to trace Yeboah for his camera failed.

He said on May, 2015, Totime spotted Yeboah at Atimpoku and he arrested him with his camera and took him to the Akuse police station where he was detained for investigation.

ASP Yeboah said Totime inspected his camera and realised that Yeboah had  caused damage to bud, main power board, view finder, mike holder, head drum, charging system and base tripod all estimated  at  GH¢1,500.

He said Yeboah pleaded  for sometime to allow him to repair the camera and Totime agreed but when Yeboah was released, he again went into hiding.

ASP Yeboah said on June 7, 2016, luck run out for Yeboah when Totime again spotted him at Juapong, arrested him and handed him over to  the Akuse police.

When Yeboah was asked of the whereabout of the camera, he said it was with a repairer at Ashaiman.

The prosecutor said the repairer brought the camera to the police station and explained that Yeboah brought it to him for repairs but he could not pay the amount he charged.
