This follows an incident in which two students of the University Hall (Katanga) and the Unity Hall were stabbed in a clash between some students of the two halls.

A source at the KNUST told the Daily Graphic that one of the two students had been discharged, while the other was still receiving attention at the hospital.

The source said after being discharged from the hospital, the student, a resident of the Unity Hall, left for Koforidua with his father, but he is expected back on Friday for further medical examination.

The other, believed to be a resident of Katanga Hall, is still receiving treatment at the KNUST Hospital and is under police protection.

The KNUST District Police Commander, ASP Ransford Nsiah, told the Daily Graphic after a regional police meeting that due to upcoming campus elections and the celebration of halls weeks, the police had intensified their patrol to avert any eventuality.

The two sustained injuries following reprisal attacks between students of the two halls last Sunday and Monday.

A student from Unity Hall was stabbed near the Great Hall, while the Katanga student was slashed in the palm in a reprisal attack.

The University Relations Officer, Vincent Ankamah Lomotey, corroborated the story and said despite the heavy police presence, there was no fear and panic on campus.
