Lead lives dedicated to service of humanity
The Founder of the Global Dream Foundation, an international voluntary organisation, Mr Benjamin Larbi, has challenged the youth of Africa to lead exemplary lives dedicated to the service of humanity, just like the former South African President, Nelson Mandela, did.

He said Mandela, by his exemplary life and commitment to what was noble, had inspired the organisation, for which reason the management of Global Dream had decided to name its 10th anniversary project in Bole in the Northern Region after him.
The founder told the volunteers that the organisation had, therefore, acquired 100 plots of land in Bole for the construction of the Nelson Mandela Youth Volunteers and Leadership Training Retreat Centre, adding that all the buildings, streets and other facilities at the centre would be named after Global Dream’s icons and role models, dead or alive.
Mr Larbi threw the challenge when he spoke with some youth volunteers of Global Dream in Abuja, Nigeria, on July 18, 2016, a day observed in Africa as Nelson Mandela Day.
He said the organisation, which also has programmes on HIV/AIDS, malaria, drug use and abuse, and environmental sanitation, is determined to instil in the youth the spirit of volunteerism because it believes it is the only way Africa could tap the energies and potential of its teeming youth to develop.
“I, therefore, entreat you to aspire to positions and levels which will enable you to become Global Dream icons to get some of the facilities at the centre named after you,” he told the youth.
Mr Larbi said the retreat centre would host youth from all over Africa every quarter for them to be mentored and inspired by respected African statesmen, role models and people who had excelled in their respective fields of endeavour, noting that that way, the youth could rise to greater heights and become role models to others.
Global Dream was founded in 2005 to assist provide adequate safe blood in health facilities for use by all patients who require transfusion as part of their healing process.
