Vodafone promotes creative writing among children

Vodafone Ghana in partnership with Samsung has launched a three-month writing competition dubbed, ‘What can I do with 1 Ghana’.
It aims at promoting thoughtful spending and creative writing among children below 15 years.

The competition, which is part of the Vodafone Ghana social responsibility, is geared towards promoting creativity and innovation among the youth.

In a statement issued by the company, Ms Carmen Bruce-Annan, Head of Brands and Communications at Vodafone Ghana, said the competition was to encourage all children who are 15 years and below to write in their own words what One Ghana Cedi could be used for.

The letters, together with a used Vodafone scratch card, could then be dropped off at any Vodafone retail shop, where all the entries would be collected and short-listed.

He said bi-weekly, the short-listed entries would be further scaled down and about 16 winners who would be selected by a panel of judges would win a Galaxy Tablet each.

Ms Bruce-Annan said at the grand finale three overall winners would be rewarded with a one-year full scholarship by the Vodafone Foundation.
