Prince Harry ‘refuses to sign prenup’ ahead of wedding

But instead the 33-year-old is said to have rejected their advice to sign a prenuptial agreement. A source told the Mail Online: ‘There was never any question in Prince Harry’s mind that he would sign a prenup. ‘He’s determined that his marriage will be a lasting one, so there’s no need for him to sign anything.’

Meghan, 36, who has an estimated £4 million fortune, divorced her first husband Trevor Engelson after two years. Prince Harry is thought to have around £20 million in assets and received a £10 million inheritance from his mother Princess Diana.

Columnist Sophia Money-Coutts said there rumours a prenup was being drawn up but instead Prince Harry has followed the example of his brother and mother, neither of whom signed one. The couple are set to marry on Saturday, May 19. By choosing a Saturday, they’ve gone against tradition – royal weddings usually take place on a weekday. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wed on a Friday and the Queen on a Thursday.

After their engagement announcement, it was revealed they would be tying the knot at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. The Queen gave her formal consent on Thursday in a letter to the Privy Council and announced that she would attend her ‘most dearly beloved grandson’s’ ceremony later this year.

The first six people in line of the throne must have the Queen’s consent before they can marry, according to the Succession to the Crown Act 2013. The letter of approval came after Meghan made her first public appearance with the Queen at the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey earlier this week. And the couple will invite 2,640 members of the public to Windsor Castle on their wedding day.
