Ghana moves forward only when NDC is in charge - Kofi Adams

National Organizer and campaign coordinator for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Kofi Adams has stated that Ghana's development progresses only when an NDC government is in power.

Speaking to a gathering of party faithful in Cape Coast at the party's 2016 electioneering campaign launch, he said President Mahama's leadership qualities and ability to deliver on his promises was affirmed when the United Nations (UN) appointed him as Co-Chair of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Advocates to support the Secretary-General.

"When the entire UN was looking for eminent persons to lead the process so that sustainable development can exist in the world, to reduce the gap of the haves and have nots, the UN did not find anybody but yours truly John Dramani Mahama and the Norwegian Prime Minister Ms Erna Solberg."

According to Kofi Adams the UN would not have chosen President Mahama if he was not delivering sustainable development in the country.

He said as a united party and government, the NDC was leading the way for development and called on Ghanaians to retain the NDC government in power.

"We meet here today as a solid united family", and in an apparent jab at the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), he added, "We have here gathered with our General Secretary and National Chairman who were duly elected."

He continued, "On the other side what do we see? We see a party that is specialised in division, a party that is specialised in suspension, a party that is specialised in contention, a party that is specialised in intimidation, a party that is specilised in abductions, a party that is specialised in confusion, a party that is specialised in deception, a party that is specilised in brutalisation and last but not the least, a party that is specialised in acidification."

According to the campaign coordinator, Ghanaians should not gamble with the future of the country but rather retain President Mahama, describing him as ready and focused to lead the development charge of the country.

"We have a task ahead of us, all of you here gathered, as we go back, we are going back with a conviction that we are making no mistake, John Dramani Mahama will have to continue," he concluded.
