The president who was addressing a crowd of supporters at his Cantoment residence Friday said “…we are a party that respects the rule of law…I want to assure the nation that we will accept the outcome of the elections, positive or negative.”

He also urged party supporters to stay calm and take into consideration that “we are the party in government and we have more to lose if there is any instability in the country. Let us respect the constitution.”

President Mahama said the party was waiting for the results from the Electoral Commission and further urged the party supporters to remain calm.

“The EC is doing its work. They have released some figures. We have taken hold of those figures. We are doing our own collation and comparing it to the figures that we have,” he said.
