Organised by the Centre for Entrepreneurship Education Research and Training (CEERT) of the MUCG, the Youth Entrepreneurship Academy was to encourage the students to develop the business mindset needed for today’s business environment.

Nurture entrepreneurial drive

The Principal of the MUCG, Rev. Professor Samuel K. Adjepong, said it was the aim of the institution to introduce students to entrepreneurial skills and inculcate entrepreneurial drives and values into them.

“We hope this would set students on the right path for success in achieving their God-given career and life goals.

“At the MUCG, we believe that it is never too early to teach young people the basic principles of business and entrepreneurship and the limitless rewards and opportunities they offer,” he said.

The principal added that the university was of the conviction that by teaching what led to a successful business at an early age, “we inspire our young men and women to explore the skills and problem-solving techniques necessary to succeed in the rapidly growing world”.

Yearly entrepreneurship workshop

The Director of CEERT, Dr Ato Essuman, said the university had realised that learning specialised subjects such as entrepreneurship needed much attention and focus, hence the decision by MUCG to partner SHSs to organise the Youth Entrepreneurship Academy.

“In this connection, a one-week Young Entrepreneurship Academy programme will be organised every year in July and August for SHS students to supplement this effort,” he said.
