The opposition National Democratic Congress said it has called on the Commonwealth to investigate human rights violations against some its members by the Ghanaian government. The party is also urging the international political organisation to monitor the human rights situation in Ghana and what it says was a criminal persecution of its members. The General Secretary of the NDC, Mr Johnson Aseidu Nketia addressed a press conference in Accra today and said the party has sent a petition detailing its grievances to the Commonwealth.
