Three persons have died and 11 others have been injured following a fatal road traffic accident at Ajumako Kokoben in the Central Region on Monday, July 20, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has confirmed.
The crash involved a Toyota Isuzu and a Toyota Voxy.
According to a GNFS statement on Facebook, firefighters rescued four trapped victims, while seven others had been rescued by passersby before their arrival. All injured persons were handed over to medical personnel for treatment.
Preliminary reports suggest the collision occurred after the Toyota Voxy allegedly attempted a high-speed overtaking manoeuvre in dusty conditions, though investigations are ongoing.
Firefighters also secured the scene and restored the free flow of traffic.
