Handing over the items, the President of the club, Mr Ephrem Kwaa Aidoo, noted that the gesture was in line with the six point focus of the club to support the growth and development of the society.

He mentioned that although the club had not planned for the gesture, they realized that the COVID-19 pandemic demanded emergency response, hence their decision to mobilize the items to assist the facility.

He mentioned that since the health facility is a treatment centre, they ought to be resourced with the needed medical items to enable the frontline workers to attend to cases that would be brought to the facility.

“It is important that Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) are readily available to enable health workers to properly take care of COVID-19 patients on admission and to protect themselves as well” he indicated.

He indicated that although the mother club had presented PPEs to the four teaching hospitals in the country, they also thought it wise to decentralize the support so as to assist other health facilities within their catchment area.

He assured the authorities of the club’s continuous assistance towards the delivery of quality health care to patients who visited the facility to seek medical care.

Gratitude

The Medical Director of the hospital, Dr George Kwame Prah, who received the items on behalf of the facility, lauded the club for the timely assistance in the wake of the global pandemic.

He stated that the items received would augment what they already had in stock to respond to COVID-19 cases at the facility.
