Rabito Clinic donates 7,830 PPEs to 50 health facilities

Rabito Clinic has donated 7,830 Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs) to the Ghana Association of Doctors in Residency (GADOR) to help fight COVID-19.

The Ghana Association of Doctors in Residency (GADOR) will in turn distribute these these PPEs to over 50 healthcare facilities across the country. The PPEs are to be distributed to frontline health workers in these facilities.

The PPEs include examination gloves, surgical facemasks, N95 facemasks, protective gowns, goggles, coveralls, and hand sanitizers.

The selected health facilities include Ridge Hospital, Tema General Hospital, Ga East District Hospital, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Kumasi South Hospital, all Teaching Hospitals, and all Regional Hospitals.

Speaking at the donation ceremony, the Founder of Rabito Clinic, Professor Edmund Delle, said the donation formed part of its commitment to support the Government of Ghana and all other stakeholders in the fight against COVID 19.

“We are all aware of this pandemic and everybody is the world must come together to fight it. The virus is no respecter of race, country and gender and we are in a situation where all Ghanaians must make sure to do as much as we can to prevent the spread of the virus.

“This is the to show unity among ourselves, come together and fight the virus,” he stated.

The Chief Executive Officer of the clinic, Mrs Karen Hendrickson, for her part, said the frontline workers were in an attempt to protect citizens and it was therefore necessary to protect themselves as well.

“This is why we have purchased these PPEs which will go a long way to ensure that the clinics and hospitals who need them get them,” she noted.

She also used the opportunity to advise its stakeholders and the general public to practice social distancing, stay home and practice hand washing hygiene amongst other recommended safety measures in keeping themselves and families safe.

To support this effort, she said Rabito had halted operations at most of its 16 branches across the country, with only the Osu, Kumasi, Sunyani and Tamale branches operating reduced hours.

She said the clinic was also giving out 3000 pieces of hand sanitisers to its E-Health patients to complement efforts in this regard.
