Ghana's COVID-19 recoveries now 17

Seventeen persons have recovered from the Coronavirus disease.

The 17 are said to have tested negative for the diseases two consecutive times.

The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr Patrick Aboagye, made this known at a press briefing in Accra on Tuesday.

According to him, “we have a definition of recovered as those who are positive and have recorded consecutive negative [tests].”

He stated further that they were awaiting the second test results of 66 others.

“Currently, we have 83 people in that category but we have about 17 who have recorded double negative and obviously clinically cured but we are going to monitor them.

“We have about 208 who are well, asymptomatic or in mild condition and being treated at home and isolation centres,” he added.

He said two persons still remained in critical condition at the hospital.

As of Saturday, April 11, a total of 37,954 persons had been tested with 566 cases confirmed for COVID-19. Of the number, 58% are males and 42% female.
