Valentine bead bazaar in Accra

In a quest to help revive  interest in Ghanaian beads, the Ghana Beads Society (GBS) will on Saturday, February 14  bring together bead makers, bead traders, designers and prospective buyers at the Afia Beach Hotel, near the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) headquarters in Accra, for the 2015 Valentine Bead Bazaar.

Miss Ria Azu, chairperson of the GBS, said the event  will take place at the hotel’s courtyard and in the conference room between 10.00am and 6.00pm.

She stated that the exhibition will provide prospective buyers and visitors with an opportunity to celebrate an exciting aspect of Ghanaian culture with a selection of the finest beads produced in this country.

The GBS chairperson said proceeds from the  bazaar will go to support the society’s  proposed bead reference library and creation of the  Ghana Bead Encyclopedia.

The Ghana Bead Society is a non-profit organisation devoted to the promotion of Ghana's bead culture.
