During his recent visit to China, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo visited the Huawei’s Executive Centre in Beijing
In an interaction with the Senior Vice President of Huawei, Mr Yi Xiang, President Akufo-Addo said with the unlimited possibilities created by ICT, Ghana would continue to work closely with Huawei to build communications infrastructure, expand the use of ICT services, and train a skilled workforce.
According to a press release issued by Huawei in Accra, President Akufo-Addo said: “Looking to the future, I am sure that the government of Ghana and Huawei will have a strong and fruitful relationship.”
He said Huawei was now working on many ICT projects that were driving development in Ghana.

“We look forward to working with Huawei to advance ICT transformation for a better connected smart Ghana.”
He said he was very impressed by Huawei's corporate values which could be adopted by some state agencies in Ghana.
The President observed that the friendship between Ghana and China had laid a good foundation for trade between the countries.
For his part, Mr Yi said under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo, Ghana was enjoying fast, sustainable economic growth.
“We hope to help the country build even stronger ICT infrastructure and further expand connectivity, giving more people equal access to knowledge, skills, and opportunities for growth.

He said Huawei was committed to improving connectivity in Africa using practical innovations that would fit Africa's needs.
Huawei has been working with the government and local operators to provide secure, stable, and high-quality communications networks for Ghana since it entered the local market in 2001.
Huawei has been contributing to Ghana's digital transformation, and currently serves the majority of the country's population with its products and services.
