Western Basketball Association teams up with Cosmos Masquerades for X'Mas Open 3X3 Street tournament
In a bid to spread the joy of Christmas through the love of basketball, the Western Basketball Association (WBA) has joined forces with Cosmos Masquerades to present the annual X'MAS Open 3X3 Street Basketball Tournament.

The event, set to take place on December 22nd and 23rd, promises a spectacular display of talent, competition, and festive fun at Amanful main spain around Abatan drugstore.
The Festivities
The X'MAS basketball tournament has become a staple in the Christmas festivities of the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis. Designed to unite teams from various communities, tertiary institutions, and beyond the Western Region, the tournament offers more than just basketball.
Spectators can look forward to thrilling side attractions, including a Dunk contest, a three-point shooting contest, a fun zone shootout, and a dance and musical concept.
Purpose and community development
The core objective of the event extends beyond the court. The WBA aims to foster the development of basketball in the Western Region and channel funds raised towards essential needs. These include the purchase of balls, team jerseys, and training bibs, as well as the construction of a new basketball court for local communities. Additionally, the association plans to contribute to the maintenance and painting of existing 1st and 2nd cycle institutional courts.
To further uplift the community spirit, the tournament seeks to bring joy to the faces of street children and orphanages. In the absence of external support for community court construction, the WBA has decided to allocate registration fees from all basketball events organized by the association towards these vital community projects.

Teams interested in participating in this year's X'MAS 3X3 Street Tournament can register for a fee of GHc 200. The event offers attractive cash prizes, with GHc 1000 for the first-place winner, GHc 500 for the second-place winner, and GHc 300 for the third-place winner. Trophies will also be awarded to the deserving teams.
