Desist from leaking information to public - Central Regional Minister tells public servants

The Central Regional Minister, Mrs Justina Marigold Assan, has asked public servants to desist from leaking sensitive information that can derail development to the public.

She said the current trend of leaking sensitive information to bring confusion in administration did not promote a conducive environment for development.

She was speaking during an interaction with workers of the Upper Denkyira East and West district assemblies as part of her working tour of the region.

Mrs Assan further called on the workers to eschew negative practices that could affect the accelerated growth of the district assemblies.

She further admonished the assemblies to sponsor workers to help build their capacities for effective work.

Partisanship

Mrs Assan advised workers at the district and municipal assemblies to shun party politics at the workplace as it had the potential to trigger violence and disturb national peace.

“Shun party politics at the workplace as technical people and let us work together to develop the region,” she stated.

Mrs Assan expressed worry that some workers often engaged in verbal political discussions at the workplace, creating serious misunderstanding and chaos, instead of working hard to develop the country.

She, therefore, urged public servants to channel their exuberances into productive ventures, rather than engaging in partisan discussions that negatively impacted on development.

Galamsey

Mrs Assan expressed concern about the wanton destruction of the country’s water bodies by illegal miners and appealed to the two district assemblies to put in place road maps to curb the menace.

“It is worrying to see our rivers and forests being destroying indiscriminately," she observed.

Mrs Assan said the Central Regional Coordinating Council would roll out its development agenda to direct the growth of the region.

She said key on the agenda would be a war on sanitation, tourism development, roads, youth and girls empowerment.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Upper Denkyira West, Mr Isaac Awuah, pledged to help achieve the total growth of the region.

The Central Regional Coordinating Director, Mr Kingsley Agyei Boahene, advised the workers to aim at excellence by enhancing transparency and accountability to support the transformation agenda of the region.
