Water supply interrupted in East Legon, other areas

The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has announced an interruption in water supply to its customers at East Legon and surrounding communities in Accra as a result of the bursting of a main transmission pipeline.

The affected communities include Spintex Road, American House, Adjirigannor, Trassacco, Shiashi and surrounding areas.
A statement issued by the company explained that the interruption was to allow the company’s engineers to repair the damage.

“Management of the GWCL, therefore, wishes to inform members of the public, as well as institutions or organisations within the affected areas, to bear with the situation, while engineers work around the clock to rectify the situation,” the statement, signed by the Head of Communications of the GWCL, Mr Stanley Martey, said.

The company promised its consumers in the affected areas that water supply would be restored as soon as the repair works were completed.
